HUNGRY CHEF UMBERTO – SICILIAN & SOUTHERN ITALIAN COOKING

Umberto is a private chef offering high quality, authentic Sicilian and Southern Italian food in Bristol, Devon, Dorset, Cornwall and Wales.  He has worked as a Private Chef for 8 years and has many great reviews from satisfied clients.  Umberto presents each course to the guests with a personal story about the ingredients and the dish that offers an extra element to your chef experience.

Sicilian food is the original fusion cuisine with influences from the French, Arabs, Spanish and also the Greeks. Consequently, as an authentic Sicilian chef, Umberto will wow you and your guests with his food.  He is used to working with Agas and always leaves the kitchen clean and sparkling.

As a much sought-after chef in Somerset, Chef Umberto regularly does private chef work for clients in rented properties.  A popular option is a 3 pre-dinner canapés per person plus 3 course meal.

CANAPÉS
Chef choices of 3 fish canapés per person

STARTER
Sicilian style stuffed squid. Braised in a tomato and black olives sauce and served with split peas purée and crispy courgettes
Or
Salt cod mousse and red pepper grilled polenta and chives oil
MAIN COURSE (CHOICE)
Sea bass and prawns ravioli in a mussels broth with sea beet
or
N’duia (Calabrian sausage) crusted monkfish, cannellini beans stew and tempura monkfish cheek.
DESSERT (CHOICE)
Coffee and chocolate Mille-feuille hazelnut ice cream
or
Lemon and mascarpone cannoli with raspberry ice cream

Booking Process

As experienced private chef providers, we at Hungry Chefs know that booking a personal chef can seem like a daunting process. We have a client services manager to walk you through every stage of planning and preparation so, on the day, you will shine as the host  or hostess of a truly memorable occasion.

Firstly, we work with you to recommend a menu based on your requirements and budget. The cooking facilities can be challenging in rental properties so we try to figure out the best menu for those conditions too. We agree the time for service and chef arrival. After the meal, the chef will return the kitchen to its former state and clean plates, cutlery and tableware. Finally, we’ll brush and mop the floor. .

Quality Food

  • Great Mediterranean food cooked from scratch using seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients where possible plus some exotic specialities from Italy and Sicily.
  • Telephone consultation
  • Client services manager to guide you through booking and manage all logistics and communications regarding your event so you are informed and assured throughout the process.
  • Bespoke menu options for Super-Premium and Luxury Clients.
  • Hungry Chef in the kitchen with courses presented will prove a real talking point
  • Uniformed chef arrives at venue to begin service at time of your choosing so allow time for him to prep food on-site.
  • Meal is served and afterwards, the chef and/or team will return kitchen to the state it was found in, clean up and wash floor leaving you and your guests to enjoy the rest of your event.

We can also supply waiting staff, plates and glassware, table decorations and a perfect customer service.

Bespoke Menus, Super-Premium & Luxury Service

You advise the cost per head you are hoping for and our chefs will offer a build your own menu option (From £39 per head) or work with you on a bespoke menu (from £55 per head for 4 courses).

At Hungry Chefs Catering, we pride ourselves on offering premium quality service. We use fresh, locally sourced ingredients and we always use free range chicken and eggs, sustainably sourced fish.  In addition, we will use organic produce wherever possible. We can tailor menus to your budget and offer options to accommodate dietary preferences and intolerances.

We will create Super-Premium and Luxury bespoke menus based on an initial discussion with the client.

If you’re hiring a holiday cottage and want to really relax call Hungry Chefs.  If you’re planning a family celebration in your home, think of us for a private chef to make your night a delight.  We’ll cook the dinner and clean afterwards. All you need to do is put the photos on Facebook and Instagram!

If you’re planning a longer break, the chef can be booked at favourable rates to provide chef services throughout your stay.

We can cater every occasion from an intimate dinner for two to events for up to 30 people. Larger parties require 3 week’s notice.

In addition, we offer cooking lessons which are a great gift.  Choose a menu and a Hungry Chef will come to you with all the ingredients to cook a delicious meal of 3 courses for you and a special guest.
